Unpredictable. It’s a fine line between emotional and a mental health disorder I think, especially to the outside world. Identifying the patterns can be difficult but once you see them, they can’t be unseen. There is consistency in the inconsistency. The 2 key factors are: Time: even if Faye’s mood changes significantly on an hourly basis, there is predictable behaviour on a approximately weekly cycle. There are even larger timescales of months and quarters but I won’t get into that. Mood state: happy, sad, excitable, eager, inventive, optimistic, depressed, self conscious, daring. The list goes on. They all could happen […]
Those who know me know that I like order and structure in pretty much everything I do and without it, I begin to lose track of common every tasks and objects. It’s particularly apparent for anyone who has ever worked with me. Building in procedures, documenting everything and anything to streamline processes. Even going so far as having a completely clear desk with no clutter. A clear desk is the bedrock of my organised working life. At any one time I will have a computer, my iPhone and some earbuds on my desk and any computer peripherals such as a […]
I recently bought the new Apple TV 4, mainly because I managed to get a deal that reduced the price to £27 but also because I was still using the 5 or 6 year old Apple TV 2 still. I’m not going to review the unit but I will highlight some things I noticed. General This update won’t change you’re life. It’s an improvement on the previous Apple TV but it isn’t a re-invention of the category. I feel as if Apple have learnt from building Apple TV apps from the 2 and 3 and brought it all together here […]
Sometimes you just have to go for it. Hell with probability, expectations and wasting time and just make a bold move with the only consequence of wasting your own time. That waste is not what we fear though. It’s the rejection or anticipation of failure. Doing something so uncharacteristic or farfetched that you feel as if you are just setting yourself up for failure. The truth is – you’ll fail if you don’t try at all.
As you know Faye bought me a Fitbit (see first post) and I am closing in on my final week with the Fitbit and I have already noticed a positive change in my life. Now, don’t get me wrong, my saturated fats intake is probably through the roof and continuing down this route may cause more problems than it solves although in the short term I have noticed an improvement. I tend to have more energy throughout the day and my stomach has definitely stretched. I am now eating 300 – 500 calories a day more than I am burning. […]
I have always wanted something to track my movements throughout the day. Not in the location aware sense but in terms of calories burnt, calorie intake and even to monitor sleep and it became even more prudent recently. As most of you know. I am a skinny guy and I have many failed attempts in the past to try and gain weight. Mostly because I know my weight isn’t particularly healthy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not troubling for now, but it is something that needs to be improved. It is particularly noticeable when I’m stressed as I stop eating […]
This is a jokey one but certainly useful if you are concerned about proposing but not being fully prepared. Myself and Faye love the challenge 😛 Weddings are expensive. Even the cheap ones. Wedding dresses are expensive. Even the cheap ones. Prepare to cause some internal family arguments regarding the invites unless you are minted. You can’t afford to invite everyone especially for the whole day. So ensure you have a good party in the evening where you can afford to invite all your friends. The party is the second most important part, where the ceremony itself of course is […]
